The PHS Key Club is a branch of the Kiwanis organization, and is a group dedicated to serving the community and school. The Kiwanis District Representative is Mr. Thomas Walker, and PHS Co-sponsors are teachers, Mrs. Julie Sanders-Johnson and Mrs. Leigh Gowdy. Club members have started the school year by serving at two events.
The following students worked at the Courtney Clifford Scholarship Walk/Run: H. Adkins, L. Conley, A. Eley, G. Emnett, E. Gullett, L. Harvey, A. Langford, T. McKenzie, T. Mershon, R. Moorhead, T. Parker, T. Reed, and I. Riley.
A successful Kiwanis Kids' Fun Day was held on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014! Key Club students served hot dogs to 450 participants! Key Club members conducted activities, such as sack races, for the children. Workers at this event were: H. Adkins, L. Conley, Q. Gerwig, E. Haas, R. Johnson, D. Jordan, T. McKenzie, T. Mershon, and G. Phipps.
Key Club will be partnering with KDMC/OHIO and Salvation Army in holding their annual COAT DRIVE. If you have a new or gently used coat, bring it to the Sept. 26 Trojan football game or call 353-2398 ext. # 1328 or ext. # 1346 to arrange for pick-up. The Drive ends on Sept. 30th.
