PHS Honors Students Spend Day at Southern Ohio Museum

The sophomore Honors English class of PHS visited the Southern Ohio Museum on Tuesday, September 13, 2011.  Docent Julia Wisniewski welcomed the class and gave an interesting background on the current exhibit, "Creeping Out of the Dollhouse."  After touring the museum, students met with artist-in-residence, Janet Radnor, and completed a project related to the exhibit.  Following a picnic lunch on the Esplanade, students met with Neil Carpathios, Professor of English at SSU, and began a poetry project, also connected with the art exhibit.  The sophomores were then treated to a tour and demonstration at Cirque d' Art Theatre.  They attempted some of the circus feats they had just witnessed!  A special Open House will be held Thursday, October 6, 2011, at the Southern Ohio Museum, to show art and poetry projects created by the students.

The class appreciated this special educational opportunity made possible by Sharee Price, Gifted Coordinator at the ESC, Janet Radnor, artist-in-residence, and Neil Carpathios of SSU.
