2024-eclipse

Trojan Family,

On Monday, April 8, 2024, at approximately 2:30 PM - 3:00 PM, we will experience a total solar eclipse. Totality (darkness) will last between 2 to 4 minutes. A total solar eclipse is a rare and spectacular event. The last total solar eclipse visible in Ohio was in 1806. The next total solar eclipse in Ohio will be in the year 2099. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Due to the Total Solar Eclipse, Portsmouth City School District will be having a two-hour early dismissal on April 8, 2024. Extracurricular games will not start until 5:30 PM on April 8, 2024.

Thanks!
